In support of our goal to provide educational opportunities for the public, we recognize May as Older Americans Month, June as Elder Abuse Awareness Month (and June 15 as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day), October as Financial Exploitation Awareness Month, and hold events accordingly.
Since early 2020, STAPSCB has hosted annual educational symposiums. March 2020 was the first, held as in-person, followed by a series of virtual webinars in 2021. The year 2022 brought not only the launch of hybrid events (both in-person as well as virtual attendees), but also the addition of hosting a second event. The annual June event was targeted for older adults and those who care for them (professionally or as family), and the inaugural October event that was geared for first responders and those in the legal profession.
